Encoder- Simulink problem

I am doing the motor bike project and i have a small problem with the encoder on the rear wheel driving motor. It looks like the Simulink support package Encoder block stops outputting the speed signal after i disconnect the USB cable and monitor the motorbike through Wifi connection. It still outputs the position signal.
I have added a screenshot where you can see the wheel speed signal working correctly at the start but after i had disconnected the USB cable it was zero all the way until the end. After that signal will remain zero until you turn the board off and on again.

I reported the problem to mathworks and meanwhile i am using difference block to calculate the counts per second from position output.
