Hi, I'd like to create an alarm clock for my daughter and, therefore, consider using an eInk display. Since I won't show the seconds, the provided refresh rate of about 3s is acceptable.
I have never worked with an eInk displays before, and I am confused since I can't find any proper documentation from Good Display on how to interface with the 6-pin FPC to switch it on and off.
The display can also be bought with a front light driver board, however, I don't see how I could use this in conjunction with a Arduino board as it only provides an USB port.
Any points to proper documentation or even demo projects would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
For more information you could take a look at the schematics provided on these pages.
Note that you would need level converters for use with 5V (IO pins) Arduinos.
I don't have any experience with these yet.

You need a separate pin to switch it on or off, and a transistor and a resistor.
If you don't use touch, then you can do with just a DESPI-C02 connection module. And use the 6 pin FPC connector that comes with the display plus a transistor and a current limiting resistor.
