My ESP32 cam on its Motherboad runs my sketch fine when i download it and the MB is plugged in to either the pc USB port or an external power USB port, but when i power it from an Elegro battery powered 5v source via the elegro USB, it doesnt. Any ideas?
To what pin is that 5 volt connected?
Datasheet for that Elego battery, please.

I have not used that board but I think it needs at least 8V to operate properly. Post a link to its technical details. The reason it works is USB gives it the needed voltage, the Vin needs additional voltage for the regulator.
Thanks all, Yes, just not enough power from the 9v battery into the voltage regulator, hooked up to a RC model LiOn 7.2 volt ( just to test) and it worked fine.
