The ESP32 datasheet has a reference circuit that includes an external flash chip (hardware design guidelines).
Does anyone have a suggestion for which external flash chip should be purchased? Based on the suggested package (SOP-8), I went with the following device: GD25WD40CTIGR (datasheet) but I am not so familiar with this hardware.
So any tips on how to select the proper device would certainly be appreciated.
What do the guys over at ESPRESSIF say; after all they makes the ESP32.
From what I read in the Espressif hardware design guidelines that I attached, the SOP-8 package was mentioned but not like a manufacturer part#. Attached is a screenshot from the manual though were they mention specifications for the chip needed. I am not sure how to select the best chip based on this information though.
