I am working on a project that requires two RFID readers. They need to have a sampling rate of at least a few samples per second, and need to be able to differentiate among ~10 RFID tags. A program is run that uses the two readers to detect the tags, and play a sound based on the type of tag (there are two “types,” ~5 tags of each “type”). We have been told that almost any MicroController board will work, and we have one in mind.
We now have the problem of finding good RFID readers. There are a few considerations here. One is how the readers interact with the program. Ideally, we would like the program to be able to run both readers at once, versus switching between the readers many times a second (effectively only using one reader at any given moment). Are there specific RFID readers that can only do this with certain MicroControllers ? Also, what type of RFID readers would be most effective for our goals, especially given the previous consideration? Will USB work? Any advice in general would be very helpful ![]()
