Floppy drive "speaker" box

Hi, I'm playing with floppy drives and playing music on them, I'm not very familiar with sound so I want to ask if you know some way to improve the sound. I made myself a little box 12,2x11x15 cm with open top where the floppy drive sits, improved the sound quite a bit but I'm curious if you can come up with better idea and get the most out of it. My aim is to make a video so microphone positions is also a question. Thanks very much

I don't know what you mean by "improve the sound"... It's a novelty.. What kind of sound quality do you expect?

If you want to amplify the sound, get a microphone/amplifier/speaker. Or. maybe try a piezo pickup instead of a microphone.

You just want a better sounding board for the floppy drive? Like the body of a guitar?

That's exactly what I mean!

So, find a local thrift shop, consignment store, etc. and pick up a cheap used acoustic guitar, and use it without the strings.
Or make a wood box with a thin, onepiece top, so its like a guitar body, the floppy drive needs to vibrate the box top.

Going to try it out, thank you sir!
