When did the forum search function change and why ?
I just did a search by clicking on the magnifying glass icon as usual and typing in my search term and instead of the usual Google search of the site I was taken to search screen To compound things further I was required to enter the search term again and the search did not search the forum but what it says is "BLOG"
Using Chrome on Windows 10
Is there no search option for the forum?
Just trying to search the Forum for a problem i am having but to no luck.
I can use the Site Search icon at the top right but this doesn't seem to search the Forum
Any help appreciated.

You can still search the forum from a normal browser window by entering the term to search for and then site:forum.arduino.cc to limit the search to the forum

It is currently useless in its present form.
MINUS points for it not being tested properly.
How nice it would be if one of the Arduino folks had posted a message saying that they were making a change to the search capability with a view to XXX additional functionality and would some users please test it and provide some feedback. And, of course, that implies that the Arduino folks would keep an eye out for the feedback.
This problem was mentioned here well over 24 hours ago and there is no evidence that any of the Arduino folks knew or cared.
It should not be necessary for a problem like this to be brought to their attention by a moderator. The moderators have enough to do without baby-sitting the development team.

If there is serious effort to move to a new platform why is effort being made and $ spent to change things in this platform ?
Hi all, the dev team is making some changes in the search engine, as you can see not everything is indexed for now but they are working hard to index all the arduino properties, including the fourm.
What concerns me is that a change was made without warning and that the outcome was not given even a cursory test. It makes me wonder if the change was deliberate or whether it was an unintended consequence of some other action. Either way it does not inspire confidence

At least you can do a search of the site from the magnifying glass icon but of course it is impossible to know how well it works, just that it does produce hits
Isn't it easier to have the site Search at the top as it is. And a forum Search on the forum.?
If you are in the forum you will probably only want to search the forum from there for forum related queries/answers etc.
From my end I use it bidirectional the way it is set up now.
I can search and get store items or tutorial type info or I can get forum items when doing replies.
I see what you mean but for me that would be more tabs open to do seperate searches.

Yes, you can continue to the classic version. My comment was rather tongue in cheek, but I hope that someone has noticed that the test version does not actually work as intended at the moment.
