FSR vs Load cells

Hello there,

Virgin poster and arduino newbie here -

I'm just wondering if I wanted to measure the change of mass without lifting a container before and after and "zeroing" the sensor (as in constant pressure on the sensor and constant monitoring in change of weight), which would be more appropriate - FSR or load cells? What is the difference?

I am just building a model of a system, so I'd be using a container weighing 2lb - 5lb.

Thank you so much, with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

FSRs are highly nonlinear, and not very useful for measuring anything. An FSR could tell you that a weight increased or decreased, though.

If you want to know the actual weight, use load cells.

If you just want to know if the container is there, or if something was put in it, an FSR will do.
