Guidance around CanBus controlling

Hello all,

Hopefully you can help. I’m fairly new to the Arduino community and have been doing some intensive research.

I want a fancy controller for my headlights that flash the high beam alternately (for off road use only)! There is a ‘light effects module’ which can be purchased for $300! It plugs into the CAN HI and CAN LOW. When looking at the schematic it suggests there are slots for CAN0 and CAN1 (makes me think maybe one is a receiver and the other is transmitter). To make matters more confusing my car also had both a left and right headlight module (but as they use the same CAN network surely the signal would be sent to all nodes in the network?)

I have no problem simply purchasing the module, but would prefer to learn how it works and build one myself, and hopefully save some money in the process!

I’m fairly sure from the photo that the module is using a microcontroller, but I’m struggling to find the bits that the module uses so that I can make and learn how to program one of my own!

The datasheet likely tells that.

Thanks @Railroader! The image above is the only thing the website gives unfortunately! There isn’t a data sheet to suggest how it works. I only gathered it would be using an arduino based system from the circuit diagram above. I suppose it may be a custom printed PCB?

Here are some photos of the module from bits I’ve found online for sizing reference. The plugs appear to be generic

Hope there's a helper recognizing the stuff. I don't so I'm out.

Thank you anyway!
