Everything was working as it should for over a year, and the display went dead. Replaced the display, and all is well. I update every 15 minutes and then powerOff.

I t seems that the display should have lasted a little longer. Is there a way to verify that the powerOff is working properly? I do have an oscilliscope, but I'm not sure what to monitor. Thanks!

Yes, it should. The ones I use do. More than a little. With updates every 3 minutes.

Yes, there is. Take a look at the schematics of your driver board or connection module.
