Hello, I would need help for a beginner project

Hello I am a high school student I was unable to attend classes for 1 month because of a stay in the hospital for health problems and I have a project to return for January 5,
the problem is that I just had the time to know how to light an LED and the project and much more complicated than that if someone would have the time to help me on my project would be nice

my project:

We want to realize at a lower cost an automatic counter which:
-when a person enters: will increase the value of the number of prensent in the room
-when a person leaves: will decrease the value of the number of prensent in the room

From simple LED serviron type indicator light to notify if the gauge is reached (red) or not (green).
In addition to the indicator lights, a display must be able to allow the person in charge of the room to know exactly the number of people in the premises

The system will be able to accept a maximum staff of 30 people for the larger ones and 15 for the smaller ones.

Material available:

-arduino uno

  • GROVE module
    -Pushbutton
    -4 digits
    -LED

What type of sensors do you have ?

Digital sensors 1 or 0

I think @UKHeliBob didn't want to mean that. What he meant was. Are you going to use light sensor, IR sensor, laser sensor, ultrasonic sensor etc?

because if its the question I can not answer you I do not have little or even the material I just know that it works like a button

Can you post an image of the sensor?

@ludo_vrg You may be better off seeking help in your native language. If so, there is a French section of the forum that this topic could be moved to

Let me know if you want it moved

You will need two sensors so you can tell if someone is going in or going out.

If you have been in hospital your teacher will make allowances for you.
It’s important you learn the principles , so have a go , learn ( the object of the exercise ) and people here will help you with some details if you get stuck

We have seen this question/ project frequently over the years.

This is almost impossible.

Why?

Because there is no simple sensor that can distinguish two people walking through side-by-side, or swinging their arms past the sensor.

Given that it will be unreliable and it is merely an exercise in any case, you had better start by telling us which of the dozens of "GROVE module"s you mean.
