Hi, ALL; I recovered this LCD from an HP laser printer, not sure yet if its OK because I don’t know how it works. It has its controller, BU6740AK and 3 conectors:
A bipin which is the contrast for the LCD, an 8 pin one for LCD and 7 on board buttons and a 30 connection flex for the 2 X 16 character display.
I think I was lucky to find the BU6740 datasheet because its discontinued but I hope I can use it with my Arduino. What can I do to make sure it works ( like some simple connection to light all characters )?
OK, the first thing you need to do is to go outside into full daylight, but not in the sun, with it and a proper camera (not a phone) and take some good pictures, probably better from a distance using your optical zoom, of the module front and back and connections, and preferably from slight angles rather than perpendicular.
It is pretty unlikely that anyone here has the exact assembly, but we may be able to make some suggestions.
will do, thanks
