Help with arduino TV B Gone

I built a TV B Gone based off of this guide: Improved Arduino TV-B-Gone Immediately after I built it it worked fine. the next day I tried it again, and it worked for 1 time, then just quit. I know the IR Led is working because I see it blinking through my camera. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who thought about my problem. I got it working! It turns out that the momentary switch that i got at radio shack where mislabeled, and they were normally open. Now I will live a radio shack free life.

Normally open is the norm for pushbuttons.

Don't you mean Normally closed?
