Help with older version of IDE

Hello, I have a question about an older version of IDE. I have to use 1.6.8 for a project and I’m trying to upload code to a Arduino Mega but the default board is an Arduino Uno. I don’t see a button or menu where I can change the board, can someone help me out?

Thank you in advance.

Update it then !! Updates often clear bugs , if you dont like 2 then go for 1.8.

I’d assume 1.6 is the same as others tools/board ?

I’ll try 1.8 but I’m pretty sure I have to use 1.6.8. I have no clue why, but I tried 2 (I’m using a code from GitHub for my 3d printer [Marlin]) and it said there was an error and something about no support for things prior to 1.6.8. I figured if I used the version it was coded on then it may work :man_shrugging:

I am not familiar with 1.6 so this might not help but on 1.8 it's Tools > Board

I think 1.8.13 is the last of the 1.x.x series of IDEs, if you don't want to use 2.x try that.

If you are still stuck then follow the forum guide How to get the best out of this forum and post full details of the problem you are having.

Screenshot for 1.6.6; I don't have a reason to believe that 1.6.8 is different.

@PerryBebbington, i.8.19 is the latest.

I see it now :man_facepalming:

I think I’m just blind, I see the tools drop down now. Thank you, I’m running into other issues but I’m going to figure out what they are and try to figure them out before I ask more questions. Thanks again.
