How a 2N2222A NPN turns on a P channel Mosfet

Not really clear on what you mean. It is an explanation from AI. “created by people with a thorough grasp” ?

Some are not. I have the factory documentation for dozens of automobiles both printed and on microfiche and some of it is done correctly, some not.

If you were formally trained in electronics your education would have included text and schematic diagrams used together. Newbies don't learn about a relatively complex subject like your post from reading a text description. You could add images to each section of the AI text to illustrate the concepts and there might be some educational value to it.

Almost everybody.

Words are what management uses in order to have cover since words can be 'interpreted'. Diagrams are facts.

A newbie would ask for a schematic first?

YES, is that not obvious to you?

A newbie wouldn't know what to ask for. It would be up to an educator to show them the proper way to learn.

When I first got into electronics as an entusiast, which i am, I am not an electrician or a mechanic, a schematic was greek to me I read first, then I understood more evenutually, still learning, always learning

I agree, but my thinking schematics would scare a newbie

Then you have experienced the shortcomings of a haphazard way of learning a new subject.

To be fair, I should have said a schematic with labels that have notes/descriptions connected to them so I amend my answer to diagram with text.

Take into account many posts on here do not have over 30 responses from several volunteers so maybe take that into account when you argue with those folks.

I am self taught, nothing formal, give me your thoughts on how a self taught person should start learning the basics of electronics. I didn’t start by looking at schematics as a priority.

I think an online course like this is a good place to start.

@jim-p usually has a good suggestion and may decide to contribute it.

Thanks Emilyjane,
I am betting you are a professional

For just electronics, I recommend
Electronics Cookbook
The Art of Electronics
Troubleshooting Analog Circuits

For example, this would be a good place to illustrate the concept with a schematic representation of an actual mechanical switch.
Then at each point in the AI explanation, illustrate.

That looks like a good one.

Probably not. Most newbies on this forum don’t know what a schematic is. I often have to use Fritzing diagrams to show them how to connect something and that’s OK with me.

The big issue here is that many people will post AI generated content here on the forum and it’s beginning to be considered as spam by most of the experienced members.

You're welcome!
During my 80 years on the planet I've experienced lots of effective and ineffective teaching methods. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with self education but there are definitely right and wrong ways to do it.

Many newbies are not particularly interested in learning electronics and would ask for a hookup diagram showing the physical wires and images of the parts and of a breadboard rather than an actual schematic. A properly drawn schematic could serve them just as well though and would be something they could learn from as well.
