Hi all. I want to measure power consumption and calculate the mAH value to know how much time would my battery can run the circuit.
I only got a multimeter and DC power supply.(Im not sure if this is enough to measure)
My project has a temp sensor and measures it every 15 mins. It's going through to deep sleep mode and wakes up again.
So how to measure the mAH for this circiut? Thanks.
You need to use the current range on your multiplier in series with the power supply.
Measure the current and note the time it is low and time it is high; convert to fraction of an hour.
Multiply the time x current for each condition and add together.
Over the total time period of measurement you now have a mA X hour consumption. ( mAh) . Multiply up to give the mAh in a while hour .
If you compare that to your battery mAh capacity , you will know how many hours use you will get . ( battery capacity/mah in an hour .
Hope that makes some sense - google “amp hours” too
