How to connect nodeMCU v2 and MCP2515

Hello,

can anybody help me to connect a nodeMCU to a MCP2515 breakout board?

I tried it like this, but it does not work:

I also tried to use the SPI Pins on the left side of the pinout, but it does also not work.

I would love to use the coryfowler library GitHub - coryjfowler/MCP_CAN_lib: MCP_CAN Library

I have a CANalyzer and I know that the CAN bus works and sends data on 20kbps and 8MHz

Please help me to connect my nodeMCU v2 and read some CAN data.

Thanks and best regards,
Chris

Evidently, the MCP needs more current than the NodeMCU's 3V on-board can provide.

Hi,

more current or higher voltage?

From the datasheet the MCP2515 should work with the 3,3V from the nodeMCU as far as I understand it.

 Low-Power CMOS Technology:
- Operates from 2.7V-5.5V
- 5 mA active current (typical)

And in my link posted in #1 it seems also that they managed to get it working?!

Any idea?

Best regards,
Chris

"Any idea?"
Not especially.

Your link there is in Russian (mine's a bit rusty).

I posted a link to what others here found.
The NodeMCU 3V3 out is a modest consideration.

That 4K7 resistor from NodeMCU 3V to J4 SO (pulling up D6) doesn't seem right. Try leaving it out.
