I would like to build a remote to control a cruise control module from a car. If this is possible could someone here show me what I would need to set this up. Please keep in mind that I'm a newbie. Thank you so much!
"Remote" meaning wireless presumably?
First thing I guess is to look at the specific cruise control unit and try to see what its interface is. I'll hazard an opinion that their manufacturers do no make that info available but I think trying to find that out is a pre-req for this. You'll need to know both the electrical characteristics of the interface as well as all to do with the signals, their logic. In other words, what sequence of voltage off and on, on what pins, means "do this" or "do that".
Is this project to be used in real life?- ie in the car under real driving conditions or have you removed it from the car to use in some other circumstances? If it's still in the car for normal use, then the safety aspects of this render this a not-a-newbie project. Indeed, the legal and insurance requirements might render this a not-a-project in the first place, but that's your business.
