How to make big car with dc motor?

Hello everyone. I wanna start a project. In this project, i wanna use 4 dc motor which is working voltage is 7.2 . What is your suggestion?. Which motor driver should i use? Or transistor or relay. Which one is handy?

Hi,
Have you worked out how you are going to get a motor like this to directly drive a wheel.

Technical Specifications:

  • Working voltage: 7.2V
  • Speed: 23400 rpm
  • Idle current: 1.6A
  • Shaft: 3.17mm
  • Motor lenght: 54mm
  • Motor diameter: 35.6mm
  • Weight: 157 gr

23,400 rpm, will not produce much torque when you try and slow it down to say 10 or 20 rpm.
You would be better off with a motor gearbox combination.

If you need direction and speed, then you will need a H-Bridge controller, preferably a MOSFET based controller for efficiency.

It appears you purchased a solution looking for a problem. What is the max current the motor will require. You will not be running it at idle, what is its maximum current? There is a H-bridge module called BTS7960, it is rugged and inexpensive but it is not a miniature thing it was designed to switch current and do PWM. I assume you are not going to use a PDP11 to run this thing, what computer are you planning on using. Spend some time and put together your system as a block diagram and see what you need, Then do a schematic for the electronics, not a frizzy picture. Also keep track of the links you find technical information on as they will be needed later. Show us your results after you put some effort into it.

The data sheet, PDF, listed with that web page does not include that motor, so impossible to determine if any of the parameters are legitimate. Do you have other data sheet information for your motor?

Thanks Tom. But I dont have any of them. Can ı do this with l298n H bridge motor driver? Is it possible? I research, this motor driver max amps is 2 A. From my point of view this enough. Whats your thoughts?

By the way this motor driver have 2 motor pin. Can i connect 4 motor to 2 pin? I wanna use right motors right side and left motors left side.

My thoughts are that you will not be able to get any torque out of that motor built for 23,400 rpm, if you manage to control the current to get it to run at 40rpm.

The motors idle current is 1.6A, it will pull much more then that when loaded up.
The L298 is totally unsuitable for those motors.

Do you see the problem?

Yeah thanks Tom for your reply. Now i see. Can i do this for any tristor or tranzistor. Dont think about program I'll write program thats ok. I need make this as soon as possible time and as cheap as money. I think you understand me. Thanks. Regardly Farhad

Unfortunately no, its the characteristic of your motor that is the mis-match, 40rpm will not be possible with any torque from a 23,400 rpm motor.
You would be better off with a motor and gearbox.

I got it? Thanks your advice. I'll consider that. Thanks
