How to program the PC to play an audio on output from Arduino.

I'm making a project using two PIR sensors connected to an Arduino UNO connected to a laptop. I want the mp3 file on the laptop to be played every time the PIR sensor detects motion. Can anyone guide me on how this could be done. I have never used Arduino before.
