I accidentaly shorted my pc (probably)

hi i know this isnt a theme for an arduino forum but i know there will be somebady who will be able to help, also sorry or my enghlis im czech.

so the situation is this: i was plaing with motor and arduino and i had one pin on the motor connected to 5v and i was going thru some random chip pins on the arduino to se witch ones are ground and while i was touching one of the pins on R4 the scren went black and pc did not react to anything, so if anybody knows something please help couse parents are geting suspicous

Well, for starters, I would confess everything. That will be the best, I think. And for the PC, have you tried turning it on again? Because if you haven't, just do it. If you have and it didn't turn on. I would try to recharge the computer. If that don't work, there is definitely something broken. Which can maybe been fixed. So don't panic, confess en search for a solution. You got this.

Disconnec the Arduino and don't use it again.
Disconnect the computer from the mains (pull out the plug) and let it set for about 5 minutes. Plug it back in and turn it on.

I wuld try that thnx

Your topic does not relate to a problem with the IDE and hence has been moved to a more suitable location on the forum.

What happened?

well... i pluged it back agin the psu conections to the main zipped (witch they did normaly) and the ps did not on evean after power button, when i disconected it agin and pluged back oin it did not evean zip agin so i think i shorted the motherboar or psu i hope for the psu becouse getting motheboard for components this old and tofit will be pain also the pc is lenovo think center i do not know the year but it has some I3 and nvidia 720 GT or something like that

Are you sure that the wall power outlet is still good? Plug in something else like a lamp to see if it works.
Most PC, even old ones have fuses in the USB ports so that you can't blow-up the entire PC. It's hard to believe you destroyed the motherboard or PSU by shorting a USB port. Maybe it was about to fail anyway.

PC <-(USB)-> Ardunio -> motor ? Is that correct?

yes
sorry for that i know i shuld had used the driver but it had not arrived yet

yes the outlet is good but about the fuse are they soldered close o the usb or is there like specific place on mothboards for them??

They are self resetting, that's why I told you to unplug and wait.

You're not thinking about open the laptop, are you? This is what you should do first:

Then hear your parents out, even if they'll be angry. After that, find some USB charger that you can live without and connect the Arduino to that to see if it's working.

yeah that sadly did not work but it is (i think) Lenovo ThinkCentre Edge72

the arduino is ok and im not thinkink about opening the pc at least not yet and i ready to speak to my pareants about this but i firstli tried to look for some help if there was any
