Our project is about automatic mist maker. I need to know how to connect the relay to the mist module. the mist module needs to be connected to the relay but how do I know where to connect it? Is it in the NC, NO OR Common contact? where can I connect the positive and where do I connect the negative? I was correct the first try but it didnt work anymore because it short circuit assuming its because I connected it on the wrong terminal
Hi @jas_uno
please post a picture of your relais.
Is this a pure single relay or is it a relay-module with a driver-transistor?
You should post a datasheet of this relay/relay-module
if you do not have a datasheet
You should measure the resistance of the relay-coil. This is important to calculate if your microcontroller can drive the relay directly or not.
If you don't know how to measure this or if you don't have a digital multimeter
your conditions to finish such a project are hard.
At 5V it is very likely that the relay-coil draws too much current for direct connecting to a microcontroller-pin.
As a general advice:
I'm pretty sure that you agree and will follow the way how to solve your problem mimimum 200 minutes faster.
This requires to invest 20 minutes of your precious time to read how to speedup solving your problems.
Directly after registering you got presented informations how to speed up solving your problem.
You should really read it.

It is unclear what you have short-circuited.
best regards Stefan
Hello jas_uno
Post a wiring diagram and hardware used simply to see how we can help.
I dont know why or how but the mist module doesnt work.. for this project we had already broke 2 modules and still couldnt figure out what the problem was.
Sorry, I'm not in the mood to unravel this spaghetti salad of wires.
Draw a circuit diagram with a pen and a piece of paper.
