I Need Sensor that measures the pressure of propane gas in gas tank .

Hi ..
i'm programer.. i will do android app to monitoring the gas tank level (propane gas).

So i'm looking for sensor to do this function.

either by measuring the pressure of the output gas or maybe using sensor to measuring the gas flow (assuming we know the full capacity of the gas inside the gas tank ).

i don't know much about gases , So i don't know what the solution.

i searched in google but i did not find clear answer.

please think with me and thank you very much. (sorry if i have mistik in spelling )

You're a university student and you don't know how to use google? That doesn't bode well for you.

I just googled your thread title and got hundreds of examples. Why don't you put in at least a little tiny bit of effort before you just jump to asking others to do every simple little thing for you.

I don't want to answer you.
Either give me an answer that help me or shut up.

You are a university student and you don"t know how to use google? And "help me please" sounds like someone threw you down a well.

i'm a student but i don't know everything!

if you are a hero and you know everything you can Tell me ?

Here you go!

Always happy to help a helpless university student!

I told you how I found it. It was damned simple. If you can't handle it then you should probably fail. Hate to pass someone through a uni if they're too stupid to be able to use google. Hell, even my six year old can do that. Nobody is saying you have to know everything, just don't be a lazy ass who wants someone else to do every simple little thing for them.

What result do you want from "the pressure inside a propane tank".
It stays the same untill the liquid is gone (assuming the temperature stays the same).
How full a tank is can be measured by weighing the tank.
Leo..

is the pressure will be same when the gas tank full or empty ?
i think it will be differ.

So i have app to monitoring the gas level and so on .

You did say propane (CH3CH2CH3) right? What is your major?

My major is IT , So i don't know more about chemical.

How can you design a system for something you know nothing about? Looks like you have some studying to do. Your request for a pressure sensor is premature.

Gee, does Boyle agree with that? I submit the pressure decreases as the volume increases. "Full" is a relative term, there are several ways to measure it, and weighing is one I wouldn't use.
(Something to Google - after I have had everybody else get me through uni)

assume you want to design fire alarm system. you will use the sensor you help you to detect the fire , So must you know how this sensor work exactly ?

Boyles law applies to an ideal gas.

You have to understand the system you are trying to measure....come on man, this is axiomatic.

That said, it should take about 10 minutes to wire up a pressure sensor.

i'm a programer ,so just help me , what the good sensor i can use it to know the level of gas and use this info in app.

Did you not read reply #5?

Tank weight a reliable measure of propane content.

Pressure is usually meaningless, as most of the propane is in liquid form.

On large propane tanks, internal floats are often used to measure liquid level.
