I see a side bar πŸ‘

That is maybe what they call them, but they bear little or no resemblance to cheese in my experience

..a little like three horizontal lines bear little resemblance to a hamburger?

(I wonder what the visual metaphor is supposed to be?)

The metaphor seems obvious

Not at all obvious - more like a stack of levitating pancakes.
(When I wrote about what the metaphor is, I meant in a metaphorical sense, not a literal sense - what is the hamburger/pancake stack symbol supposed to represent? - it's not a floppy disk, or a dustbin/trashcan or a funnel/filter)

It’s supposed to be a stack of menu items as an icon for a drop-down menu

But it's not a drop-down!

On the phone, the old hamburger menu used to have the unread and latest items that get squished out of the second line menu when viewing sub1024 pixel windows

Now, it looks like you’d have to add it to your personalized sidebar to get it on the new hamburger dropdown

It is a dropdown/popup/whatever on sub-1024-wide windows

...and on my exactly 1024 pixel wide ThinkPad X61s's screen, the control is on the left, and doesn't function at all

It seems to me that the response of the site with the new interface has become slower than before

I'm wrong -- I was thinking of the old interface and didn't actually measure it before typing. The sidebar disappears at on a window 789 pixels wide and then the hamburger does a popup:

Above 790 it's back to a sidebar:

You might be correct but it is just about noticeable.
Going to wait a few days in case it just needs to bed in or similar.

Thank you.
But for some reason when I go to sidebar and look for community I can’t find it.
If I click on more I can’t get to the users page.
Could you help?
Thanks.

Hi @v205. The "Community" heading has been removed from the sidebar as superfluous:

You will now find the links that were previously under the "Community" heading at the top of the sidebar:

Since they are not of significant value to Arduino Forum users, the "Users" and "Groups" links mentioned by dax1 have been removed from the default sidebar contents. You are welcome to add additional links to your sidebar by clicking the + icon at the bottom of the sidebar and adding a "custom section".

If you want to add a link to the "Users" page, use this URL in the "Link" field:
