If I unplug my extended desktop monitor, and then restart Arduino IDE 1.8.15 (Windows 10) on my laptop, the IDE does not realize there is no longer a 2nd monitor. The IDE window is not visible and I can't figure out any way to get it back except to plug my 2nd monitor back in and drag the window down to my laptop screen. This is not always possible, e.g., if I have taken my laptop to another location with no extra monitors, such as on a plane or train. The IDE needs to notice what monitors are present and adapt to them by sizing and moving any open windows to fit on what is available.
As a workaround give the IDE window the focus even if you can't see it then hold down ALT and press the spacebar and select Move. The arrow keys then move the current window even of it is out of sight

Wrong, it's a Windows feature.
Thanks, that is a good workaround. Other apps don't do this, so it's not a Windows "feature". It is a bug in the Arduino IDE.
Ik ben regelmatig mijn VisualStudio kwijt geraakt
