I am trying to control a thermoblock for supplying heated water, it has an integrated NTC (it was part of a working machine), but i have no details on what type of NTC it is, i see 1k, 10k and 100k bandied about.
How do i identify it so arduino can read it?
Have you tried to use a multi-meter to measure it? It could be a start.
I'm sure you googled NTCs for information.
Now you need to calibrate whatever it is you have.
Run water at different temperatures thru it and measure the resistance of the NTC and the water temperature.
Now you have an accurate graph of your devices' reaction to temperature.
I have a personal request for a karman point if you think this was a good suggestion.
Be safe and have fun!
Just about all common thermistors have charts and just about all the common ones share something in common. That would be 25 degrees C. A 1K thermistor will be 1,000 Ohms at 25 C, a 10K thermistor will be 10.000 Ohms at 10 degrees C. So using an ohmmeter measure what you have at room temperature and then look to the tables which are published.

Thanks all, i have not metered it yet, i did do some googling, but figured it wad fundamental to understand whether 1k, 10k, etc..
I understand now and will do some test on it
