I am a new iPad user. I am not able to
access the entire contents of the code display
window when using the iPad2. The window is dotted line around
the code and I can NOT scroll the code.
Is there a setting that I need to make or is
a possible bug in the Forum code?
Use two fingers (index + middle) close together within the code box . When it stars scrolling you can remove one finger and scroll around with the other. If the whole page starts zooming in or out, you are not quite doing it right. Practice.
I've found some text areas are small so 2 finger right side by side works best and it's best if they are exactly horizontal to the page. Once you start scrolling it's OK to go outside the text box. It knows you want to keep scrolling that text field. Then if you have to lift up and scroll again you start in the text area again and scroll.
I'll try this technique when I get home. I_finger_pointing_stuff are definitely not developed for people that read long codes. The web browser options are the least abundant among web browsers since I first browsed the web in the 90's. I sometimes pick up my ipad and read a few posts and attempt to reply and then told myself no I'd better turn on my main computer. The pad is just an expensive toy that keeps selling you more stuff.
It's not just an expensive toy, though it may be for you. I bought one for my 79 year old mom, who'd never gotten the hang of any other computer, and she's taken to it like a fish to water. The whole mouse thing with the arrow on the screen was too big of a disconnect, but point, touch HERE. That makes sense.
I guess you're right. I have not let my mom or in-laws use our ipad2 yet, they're too many thousand miles away but I do know senior people have trouble grasping what a computer is. My mom is a tough one that did learn her computers from video demos I made for her and clicking on IE but she can't type If ipad is good for senior people I will consider this option next time I visit them but I definitely agree it's an expensive tech toy that can't do much to people of our age 20-50. You're better off with a real computer.
BTW, the technique is quite efficient but again any time I feel like I want to reply, I have to turn on my main computer just to type decent replies on a real keyboard.
