Is there a Sloeber discussion sub-forum?

I was directed towards Eclipse based Sloeber IDE back in 2018 when I worked on a fairly complex Arduino project in order to have a better view of the project files and so on.
Now I have returned to this project on a new laptop going from Win7 to Win10 and I have lots of issues getting the project loaded and ready to go in Sloeber 4.4.1.

So I need somewhere to discuss these usage issues but have not found a dedicated forum.
Is there some place programming with Sloeber can be discussed?

Yes, there seems to be a paid forum:

Not answering the question.

Not sure if it's an option for you but maybe you can give IDE2.0 beta a try; it might have taken away some (or all) of the problems that you experienced with the 2018 IDE. Since RC9 it's very usable; Arduino IDE 2.0.0-rc9.4 available for download!.

OK, I will have a look at the beta after first trying to build the project in Arduino 1.8.19, which I have installed on my PC too.

My main problem with the Arduino IDE, which caused me to switch to Sloeber back in 2018, was the many features of a development IDE I had gotten used to in other systems like Eclipse and others.
Like instantly finding references and definitions etc.
But right now I have to at least create a readme outlining how to actually run the project in plain Arduino for future modifications.
I have just been able to set the correct board type (Generic ESP8266) with version 2.4.2 as was used last. Not built anything yet, though. Just documenting the procedure while I remember it.

There was. Here: Windows/Linux/Mac Eclipse plugin to compile and upload arduino sketches

EDIT

You could also try raising an issue on the Sloeber Github repository: GitHub - Sloeber/arduino-eclipse-plugin: A plugin to make programming the arduino in eclipse easy

EDIT 2

The thread in the first link above has just been re-opened by @pert

If you think there is a bug in Sloeber you can create a issue here Issues · Sloeber/arduino-eclipse-plugin · GitHub
If you want to discuss something you can open a discussion here Sloeber/arduino-eclipse-plugin · Discussions · GitHub
There is a youtube video channel with some video's. Here is about the changes in 4.4.1 which I think can cause some problems to old users

And here one on 4.4 and version control (in a playlist with lots of other older videos) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqdw1L_8Gjs&list=PLCSjf7QmP3TDPSjT_5UIp0DHXzKdhIQsF&index=33

That is true. I pop in this forum from time to time to read but hold back from posting if not necessary because I think the new forum is very confusing. I'm probably just to old for this "new way".

Yes, there seems to be a paid forum:

I don't know of any paid forum. If you pay it surely does not benefit me :frowning: and I can't think of anybody who I would call worthy/involved/active enough to run a paid forum on Sloeber.
So don't waist your money.

Might be easier to start over with Visual Studio code & PlatformIO.
But then again, I've always hated Eclipse with a passion!

Thanks!
Meanwhile I got the same advice from my son-in-law who is a software developer for industrial control systems. He was started on the ESP8266 devices by me back in the 2018 time, but he uses VSCode + PlatformIO for it.
So I will now check if that is workable for me as well and if I can port my code over from Arduino/Sloeber.
I have worked with various dev IDE:s including MS Visual Studio since the beginning of the 1990:es but I am retired now so I am a bit slower...
