Issues About xBee

Hello there.
I have some issues about xBee.
I hope some of your guys could be able to answer.

1.) I cant directly use xBee with my X-CTU. I tried almost anything and nothing works.
But i found that i connect xBee to Arduino with proto shield. I sent +++ command with Arduino serial window to Arduino. I closed the Arduino program. And X-CTU connected to xBee. Why cant i directly connect from X-CTU to my xBee? There were so much trouble. But in the end i could be able connect xBee to X-CTU and could see the configs. But i want a solid connection that i could be able to connect the xBee that connected to arduino with proto shield that connected to X-CTU in the computer.

2.) How can i configure the xBees like one xBee is on the center and other xBees talk to it individually. I am not asking talk every xBee's simultaniously. I know it is impossible. What i want to do is that CENTER asks to XBEE1, "First xBee talk", then XBEE1 talks to CENTER, then CENTER asks to XBEE2, "Second xBee talk", then XBEE2 talks to CENTER and so on.

Thanks for your answer from now.
I had some research but i couldnt find the arrangement that is like that.
If there are some helpful topics please send it to me through comment.
Thanks again.
Have a great day

What kind of XBees do you have? How are you trying to connect them to the PC, so that X-CTU can talk to them?

Hi Paul.
I am currently using:
XBee Pro 63mW (Wire Antenna) - Series 2C (ZigBee Mesh) XBP24-CZ7WIT-004
Original Arduino Wireless Proto - XBee Shield without sd card (Little switch pushed to USB mode)
Original Arduino UNO R3

The instructions for using X-CTU to talk to an XBee on an Arduino call for removing the AtMega328 chip before installing the shield. Did you do that?

Using a USB-Explorer is a much better idea.

You solved my first problem.
