I have a jc4827w543c with fusion firmware (it is an internet radio). When I power the screen with external USB cable from a wall charger (5V 3A) using the USB C screen port, all is fine. When I power the screen from a USB panel socket (with LED) thru a pair of buses (+, -) with a USB C cable power only (bare cable) is not working. Suggestions? Thank you.
Is it UCB-C or USB-A?
It is a USB C socket
Then a standard USB-C to USB-C cable should work.
If it does not, then there is something wrong with your panel socket.
Funny enough it does NOT work. I changed it with a new one. Still nothing. It is this type
It does say it has the PD function so it should work.
I have no idea why it is not.
Multimeter says 4.15V which I don't think will make happy my screes (esp32 S3). If that the case what else should I use?
Just a plain socket, that doesn't have any additional circuits for specific purpose.
Edit: Where were those wires connected to ? To your wall charger or something else?
The power came from the wall charger and those wires goes the pair of buses + and -.
That was the first thing I tried. No joy. If I use the USB cable directly (USB port screen) that connector with GND,VIN, TX and RX get 5 V. The other way around doesn't work. WHY?
That should not happen.
However you cannot have 5V connected to Vin and USB connected at the same time, you may damage your board and/or USB port.
What does the user manual say?
You mean wires go to "buses" of esp or "buses" of the charger?
It's still not clear what's direction here.
And what's the reason you don't simply usb cable? There are panel mount style cables around as well if that was the point.
You are the second person in the past week I have come across that has had problems with that device.
I setup 2 buses + and - because I need to power an encoder (for radio volume), a DAC (for sound) and an amplifier (also sound). My thinking was like this:
power from wall charger (5V 3A) goes thru a USB socket to the + and from there everything will be powered accordingly.
Since this doesn't work and powering the screen from an connector the only way is to find a way to power the screen from the board if that is possible or buy another unit.

I am lost now. I spoke with other users and they said they use the port with VIN, GND, TX, RX to power the screen. In my case that port did not want to work. Is has power only if a power the screen from the USB C port only.
