Key Fob Transmitter With Receiver

Hi gang,

So I was hoping to control my Arduino project with a key fob like the ones they use for car remotes. I asked in a couple of forums, but didn't seem to get much response on that topic. In searching around, I came across an item that completely suits my needs, and I thought I would share my discovery with the group.

Includes:

  • Key fob with 4 buttons
  • Arduino-compatible receiver

Features:

  • Buttons are non-latching (signal is transmitted continuously while, and only while, button is pressed)
  • All buttons can be pressed at the same time (you might need to add some code to filter for this. I did)
  • Range is 150m
  • Uses 355MHz for communication.

You can find it here.

Hopefully, you will find it helpful.

Cheers.

These are available from many sites. I would suggest that the range would be more like 50 - 100m.

They can be used by reading a change of state on the data output pins and then using that to do whatever you need. The outputs are non latching so if you want it to latch you do it in the program.
