I've been trying to control 2 small dc motors via an H-bridge L298N. I know that I need to place flyback diode when it comes to inductive stuff like motors and relays. But how do i connect them to the H-bridge?
Each motor lead has 2 diodes connected. (anode of one going to V+motor and cathode
of one going to GND, as shown. (ignore outside the red circle because that is all handled
by the L298.)
An L298N chip does not have the diodes included, but an L298 module does.

You need 8 diodes for 2 motors, see fig. 6 & 8 in datasheet.
