LCD Display from Vonage box compatible with Arduino?

First post here, so apologies in advance if things aren't where they should be, I'm relatively new to actually using Arduinos for stuff outside of the tutorials!

I'm currently trying to build a PET bottle to 3D printer filament converter, and wanted a screen to display info. I decided to see if there were any old electronics I could salvage parts from, and ended up finding this LCD from a Vonage box from a while back.

I'm not really sure if it's compatible with an Arduino -- it's the same display as the post here, but unfortunately, that one got closed without any replies. From what I could gather from that post, it seems that it's an 10 pin LCD?

I googled the numbers on the one I have, and wasn't able to find any information on the display itself (pictured below), so I was wondering if you guys might have any information or could help me down the right track.

I would like see this project.

What does the rest of it look like? can You remove it from the plastic housing?

With 10 pins it may be a common display operated in nybble mode.

I think the answer is no. Or at least not as far as anyone here knows.

Someone with excellent hacking/reverse-engineering and library coding skills and sufficient time and motivation might be able to make it Arduino compatible. If that person is not you, @SanjivanM, then I would recommend buying an LCD that is compatible with Arduino.

@ruilviana
Same! Might have to create an actual project thread elsewhere on this forum once I start making some concrete progress!

Tried to remove it from the plastic housing, there didn't seem to be anything underneath the display itself, but I didn't completely remove it, as it seems like the LCD and the backlight layer aren't tightly connected, as those pins didn't seem to move, unlike the 10 coming off the display

@PaulRB
Yeah that's fair, I'm willing to try, with the knowledge that I might not succeed at all, but hey, at least I'll probably learn a thing or two :joy:
I'll definitely have some Arduino-compatible screens in case I decide trying to salvage it isn't worth it.
