LED gets very dim on NANO when connecting HW061

Connected NANO to USB -Onboard LED Bright
Connected HW061 to NANO- NANO LED dim, HW061 LED Bright
Connected 16X2 LCD to HW061- both LEDS went dark.
Connections: 5v, Gnd, A4 to SDA, A5 to SCL.
16X2 LCD dark at all times
Any ideas what's going on?

Also how much incompatability is there out there? What manufactories have reliable products?
