Looking for enclosure sources

Who has some recommendations for where to buy plastic enclosures. I’m not looking for anything fancy, just a simple plastic box with a cover.

Try Jameco Electronics www.jameco.com. They have a good selection.

What size ?

Depends on your location? A simple Google of Bud Enclosures should get you plenty of results including Amazon. I like Bud but there are plenty to be had including plastic and metallic in sizes from small to large to walk in cabinets.

Ron.

Yes, I have looked at Amazon. I like that most of the sellers show the inside dimensions. Jameco are hit and miss, mostly miss on that. I was hoping to find something a little bit cheaper. I don’t need watertight. I will search Bud specifically. I am in the sticks of 906 so mail order is my only real option.

I 3D print all of my enclosures (if you are looking for an excuse to get into 3D printing).

What approximate size?

Polycase is my go-to for variety. If I'm ordering from Digi-Key, then I usually opt for Bud or Hammond. Any of those 3 will provide full engineering drawings.

There is a company in Florida called Marlin P. Jones Associates ( MPJA.COM ). They have several different types of plastic & metal enclosures along with tons of other stuff !! Check out the website !! Tom

That is just the sort of site I am looking for. Thank you.

Currently working on something that I need to fit a 4 X 20 display and three push buttons into the top with room underneath for a Nano and perhaps a power supply. Approximately 7” X 4” and about 2.5” deep. Jameco and DigiKey are a bit steep on price. Amazon is quite a bit cheaper and I get free shipping.

I will add it to my list of reasons. My son has suggested that I buy one. He is very creative mechanically and would make good use of one.

I'd ballpark a Bud enclosure with that description at around $25, since I'm working with one that's almost exactly that size.

You can also buy these on AliExpress or Amazon for about $25. Arduino, relays/solenoid drivers, LCD display, enclosure, power supply and screw terminals all in one box.

Speaking of enclosures, anyone aware of an enclosure available that would accommodate a 20x4 LCD and keypad with at least 16 keys? I can do it with a rectangular box, but I need a half dozen to start with, so if there's a commercial option out there, it starts to get interesting.
Thanks

I don’t know what the filament would cost but at those rates a 3D printer makes sense, especially since you can print it with whatever penetrations you need already there.

I am seeing that the $9.00 box I picked out from Amazon is quite reasonable.

Polycase has quite reasonable prices on customizing their enclosures. I think they have an online price estimation tool.

I print all my enclosures. Filament is cheap. 1kg will print several enclosures.

I suggest buying your son a $300 printer and download Fusion 360 for free. He can make you whatever enclosure you need.

It's the way of the future.

I also now 3d print all my enclosures.
The end result is much better and there is no need for drills etc
