Hello,
I am having issues getting my arduino to connect with my USB ports on my macbook. I have downloaded the correct drivers, installed, and restart my cpu multiple times, but no go. I have even have a University CS professor and his grad student stumped. Please help.
Nate
Can you provide the error message you're getting from the Arduino IDE? You don't have enough information here to give us any clue as to what may be causing your problem. Which Arduino are you using?
Simply saying "no go" won't get you much help.
What serial ports show up in the Arduino IDE before and after you attach an Arduino?
What devices show up OSX's system profiler before/after you attach an Arduino?
What error messages are you getting?
Define "doesn't work."
The USB does not show up in Tools/Serial Ports. So there is not any error message, I just can't get the Arduino Duemilanove to connect to my Macbook. The only serial port that show up on the list are 2 bluetooth PDA and 2 bluetooth modem.
Not really sure what else to say about it. Any thoughts?
Thanks
My other question was what shows up in System Profiler.
Apple Menu -> About This Mac -> More Info -> USB
CMD-R will refresh the list before/after you plug in the arduino.
Can you paste in your "USB Device Tree" from System Profiler? (Obviously make sure the arduino is attached and set to draw power from USB)
Not sure how or why, but the usb finally showed up. Strange.
Thanks anyway.
The Arduino IDE will not always see the serial ports change while it is running, especially the first time.
For example if you launch the IDE, then install the drivers and/or plug in the Arduino while the IDE is running, the port may not appear in the list.
Lol, so this one could have been solved the same way I fix my mother in law's computer. First: turn it off and then back on again... fixed? good.
