Hello
I'm very new to Arduino and I received my first make your uno kit. After soldering the atmega socket I realized I got the wrong orientation and I'm wondering if there is a problem with this, can I plug in the atmega328P and start programming, or do I have to fix it. If have to fix it, I would love to know if there is a tutorial/guide on how to desolder it.
If you mean the socket is turned 180 degrees from what it should be, there is only a mental problem. The chip doesn't care! If were my project, I would put a dot of white paint on the end opposite the socket notch, so you will remember that the socket is backwards.
It looks like one of the leads from C7 is bent over and shorting to an adjacent solder connection, might want to have a close look at that.
You have many cold solder joints where the solder is only on the end of the pin, and not "flowed" to the pad.
