MAKING MY OWN LINE TRACKER SENSOR

Hello , I want to make my own line tracker sensor for my line follower robot , I did a litle research on google and youtube and all what I found is proximity sensor , they look like line tracking ones , and I'm now a bit confused , is it the same sensor and it does many functions or there's difference between a line tracking and a proximity sensor.

It's an IR reflection detector. You can use it for anything it works for. Where is your line? On the floor? Then you need to make the device and point it at the floor and adjust so it detects your line. OR it detects NOT your line.
