I am searching for an arduino or a different microcontroller that has a built in rs232 connector.
I am grateful for any help you can give.

I think it would make sense to get a ttl serial to rs232 converter ic than base the mcu on it
although i heard the pics can do that

There is almost certainly a shield that has an RS-232 interface, check out shieldlist.org
