If I'm at the top-level forum view, I'm not logged-in, but if I click on one of the section headers, suddenly, I'm logged in.
Go back to the top-level, I'm logged out.

Update: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS and Firefox behave as expected.

The same thing that broke that broke a whole heap of things and it is a PITA to fix I am told.

Seems that an update of the forum system happened (new look). Please inform me when the system is running again fairly stable because at the moment I get an error from a cloudscape server about 90% of the time. This wouldn't be that bad if this system didn't delete my complete text input if I hit the back button.
At the moment try to help people here is simply a complete waste of time!
Outage / glitch is currently being looked at.

The "updated topics" appears to have disappeared. Windows 10 using Chrome Browser.
It is present using Edge.
EDIT: I'm not so sure about the situation in Edge. When I first logged in the updated topics was present, but then it disappeared.
...and now on my phone (Android/Chrome), with the new style header, I can't easily get to the top level forum.
Really, really tedious.
Can they stop the new header from flashing bigger and smaller ALL THE TIME. Driving my batty! why do we need such a complicated header anyway?
When I scroll up its one header, when I scroll down its a double header. Really?! Is this necessary?

For me it and the Unread Posts links are visible if I make the forum window wider on the PC screen (Windows/Chrome) otherwise I cannot find out how to get to them. Having the window wider does not suit how I usually work as the forum window now has to be more than half the width of the screen leaving a less than useful space alongside it for other applications, typically a second Chrome window

See I knew once they threw DISCORD into the header it would all go south...Who in h3ll names a forum software "DISCORD"
That is counter intuitive to what we are all here for (Except the occasional TROLL)

I forgot to mention that the Alerts link and number display disappear too unless the forum window is widened which as a mod is one of the ways that I become aware of inappropriate posts by refreshing the screen occasionally whilst doing something else such as watching a video on YouTube in the other window
To answer my own question, this is not progress as far as I am concerned. There is, after all, acres of spare space alongside the Admin and Moderate links

Strange.
When I make the window narrow, "Alerts Unread Posts Updated Topics" shows up underneath the Arduino icon at the top left. When I widen a bit, it moves to the top right. When I make the window full screen the text disappears.
More experiments show the same for me. They are visible in different places when the window is very narrow or very wide but not in between

When the window is narrow enough to display the Alerts, Unread posts and Updated posts links on the left the Started by, Replies, Views and Last post columns disappear as does the jump to prompt and associated drop down list and Go button
I am glad that these changes were thoroughly tested before being applied to the live environment
