My Arduino Uno port button not showing up

I gott my first Arduino today. It's Arduino Uno. I can't seem to be able to connect it to my computer. Lights on it, do turn on but it still doesn't connect. I already tried downloading ch340 driver. Can you please give me a solution or share your expirience with me?

Welcome to the forum

What exactly happens when you plug it in ? Does Windows recognise it and create a new virtual COM port visible in Device Manager ?

No, I tried openning the device manager but it doesn't show up there too (at least, I couldn't find it).

Try showing hidden devices in Device Manager. It may show up as an Unknown device

You say that you have a Uno. Please post a link to where you got it from

How do I show hidden devices in the device manager?
UPDATE: I found where to see hidden devices but I can't still find my Arduino

btw, I'm using usb to type-c adapter if that's important but I also tried connecting with other computers too without adapter (It still didn't work)

Here's the link btw:

View/Show hidden devices from the Device Manage menu

Do you have any idea how to fix the problem? I really want it to work.

Is there any chance that the cable you are using is a charge cable rather than a data cable ?

tbh, I don't really know, but here's the photo:

How can I tell if it's a charge cable?
If it is, can you send me the link to the cable that'll actually work?

Lights do turn on after I plug it in. One of them is on and the other one is blinking. I suppose that's a good sign. If it's the device itself that's faulty, I need to know it in the next 1 week so that I can get a refund.

Thanks a lot for helping btw!

How can I know if it's a charge cable?

If you can confirm that it's cable's fault, I'll buy one today.

Thanks a lot btw!

That type of cable is unlikely to be charge only. It happens more with the smaller USB connectors

Have you got any other devices that you can try the cable with and/or another cable that you can try ?

I tried it with multiple laptops (3 to be precise). It worked on none of them. I don't have another cable. It's my first Arduino!

Your board seems to be a clone that uses the CH340 TTL-to-USB converter (that is the small chip next to the USB connector. Did you install the driver?

Which version of the IDE?

I did install the driver (ch340) and I tried all Arduino IDE versions (including the online version)

Can you post a close-up photo of the below part of your board

It doesn't look like there is a proper marking on it. Which might indicate a fake chip. You should be able to read WCH (the below is from a Nano)
