You have certainly brought a huge amount of relevant industry based experience onto the forum and I often enjoyed reading your posts. I've also looked in detail, some time ago now, at your TFT screen oscilloscope project and one of your IR projects.
I generally avoid exchanges with people here which are not on technical themes and I'd personally regard getting involved in such exchanges as an additional warning sign, on top of the excessive amount of time I spend here, that at least a temporary break is required.
Anyway, hopefully we see you back and there may be a good chance since you have done this before!

Well and concisely put. I heard ya. Though I've not been the target of a ban, there are some responses I've typed recently that fortunately remained unsent until I deleted them.
Thank you, to the 'old heads' who have generously helped me out along the way, and "Bon Voyage" to those who have expressed appreciation for my small efforts; maybe in time, you'll find yourselves as the 'old heads' on some form of forum like this, though I can't begin to imagine what it will be like even next year, as AI inexorably takes hold of it all.
While the forum's been enjoyable for the most part, and rewarding when things come together, I find less content of interest, and fewer 'new users' I can gen up the interest in helping. Beyond a certain point, reading the new posts just gives me gas, and it shows, both in attitude, and in sloppy attention to detail. Maybe someday I'll check in and find I want to participate again, but for the foreseeable future I'm done. I reserve the right to remain a member, and occasionally mine the past threads for useful content, but I'll be at best a silent partner, if I'm around at all. I'll show myself out, thanks.
Set out an extra chair on the deck, Ray, I'm on my way over; will it be a few bottles of wobblypop, or is it a Glen Livet day?

You will be missed, hopefully only for a short time. There is always one in the group that wants to show power mainly because that person does not have the knowledge to disagree. Old timers like you add more in an evening then most in a week or so. I also see it going down as well and the personal attacks are on the rise. I make mistooks answering questions mainly because they do not give the needed information or I did not understand the question. You have caught some of my mistooks and you were correct and I admitted it. I only have about 60 years in electrical/electronics so I am still a newbie. We have lived through the changes in the industry over the years, the best way way to learn. Keep smiling, take a break and visit somebody special then come back and consider coming back as you can see you are missed. Thanks for all the great work and effort.
