New artwork? - or am I imagining things again?

It seems that the icon on the tabs has changed.

I guess somebody somewhere thought that is useful for users rather than using programmer time for other things.

I can't remember what it looked like before.

I can't find where I may have saved a screenshot in times past, but I think the colours were inverted.

They were indeed. I just watched it change when I logged in today.

I don't know about other Forum regulars, but I find it very frustrating that nobody from the Arduino team takes a blind bit of notice of comments and requests by us users and at the same time they are obviously beavering away in secret in the background on useless cosmetic stuff.

It was not the forum admins. It is the design team re-doing the site branding. This is obviously to separate themselves from Arduino.org, as the only difference before was a square instead of circular icon.

I do not think it is really a big deal to huff n puff about.

You'll find that most of the time spent by the programmers is being devoted to create.arduino.cc and the IDE. When there is time, they'll give some to us.

I'm not sure who you mean by that. I am very well aware that our moderators are not to blame.

I do feel strongly that all of the people who contribute extensively here (including you) are entirely ignored by the people who manage the Forum software. Without people like you who are prepared to expend a lot of free time to help others the Forum would have no value at all.

Ah, there we go, something for us.

Alerts are back on the header bar now. Don't have to go [here] now to see if you've been quoted.

What is an "alert" ?

I never knew they were missing.

I tried the Alerts link in #7, didn't come across as particularly useful. Am I missing something in what it's supposed to do?

I think it used to have other stuff, now it is just showing replies people have made quoting you. As in a reply aimed at you.

Seems little more useful than the updated topics list, just a little more fine grained.
