Newbie! please help

hi there i am new to using arduino .i tried downloading my progam but i got this erore message

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

Welcome, lots of others have had the same problem. It appears you have the wrong board selected. Go into tools menu and select the appropriate board. Also if it is a Nano and you get this error after selecting it change it to old bootloader. Good Luck!

I really hope selecting the correct board helped.

I faced a similar error, except the I got resp=0x44.

In my case, I actually had a broken Arduino.
It could have maybe been fixed by flashing the bootloader, but this is advanced stuff and requires a second Arduino, which I didn't have at that time.
The shop replaced it and the replacement is working fine.
