No ports discovered what so ever (SOLVED)

Hi there, I am trying to upload a code to a NodeMCU 1 that I am using, but no matter what I do no port is shown, I tried another board and the port was shown immediately, what are the step to fix this

Note: I am new, the board is NodeMCU, it has usb type-c that is for programming and charging, i tried it on, off, and with the battery removed, but no result.

EDIT: I have tested the cable, and it transfered data from my phone to laptop so it is indeed a datacable

Install the required drivers plus follow link below.

I have found the solution:
Press and hold the BOOT button on the chip, and press RST (restart)

This will put the chip in bootloader mode and the port will appear

RESET (very close in spelling, sound and meaning)

In my NodeMCU there is only Flash and Restart button. I am facing the same issue , can you help me

Hi @aryannandanwar. Please add a reply here on the forum thread to let us know which microcontroller is on your "NodeMCU" board.

The original "NodeMCU" board used the ESP8266 microcontroller, but since then a variant with the original ESP32 microcontroller was also produced. I'm not aware of any other variants, but from what @kalid-tech reported it sounds like maybe they have a variant with one of the newer versions of the ESP32 such as ESP32-S2, ESP32-S3, or ESP32-C3.

Despite the similar names, some of these microcontrollers have significant different characteristics, so describing a board as "NodeMCU" is no longer sufficient to allow us to effectively support your problem.

I am using the orignal NodeMCU board with the ESP8266 microcontroller. How do I address this problem?
