I have a project the is using several PL9823 LEDs. Can I use a surface mount decoupling capacitor soldered directly to the VCC and GND leads? I have never used surface mount components and believe it should work in theory, but would like to check with others who know more than me before ordering the capacitors.
Please forgive my foolishness, the more I think about this, the more I realize that I already knew the answer. The type of capacitor will not make any difference, the end result of both is the same, just a better appearance with the surface mount.
