Port Connection Problem

Port not connected even though USB is connected to computer and arduino uno board is powered. I've tried restarting computer, open directly from files, from the arduino application. My USB-B cable was previously working and now it says it is not connected.

I find this invaluable (ie very useful) for these issues

Which operating system?
Does your operating system still recognise the board?
What is the serial-to-usb converter on the Uno? It's the IC closest to the USB port.

What is the project that you are working on when it stopped working?

My arduino uno board is still detected, but port is not connected.
I think by serial-to-USB converter it is USB-A to USB-B.
I was working on a RFID scanner to read certain tags/cards and to grant access (light LED) if it corresponds to the correct one.

I've installed the file, and this is what it shows

In "Options" you can eliminate lots of data

Here is my window with a UNO connected.

You will see it shows your arduino is not connected.
The display will update if you disconnect or recopnnect ant usb device.
