Possible issue with Due and MacBook Pro (Retina) battery drain

Ok this was pretty scary.

Two nights ago left my MacBook Pro 15" Retina turned on with an Arduino Due connected to it. The Arduino was connected through the programming port (the 16U2).

Even though my Mac was connected to power, and charging, In the morning it was completely dead.

It would also not boot anymore. The LED on the power adapter was green but pressing the power button did not do anything. It seemed bricked.

I solved this by disconnecting the MacBook completely. After about half a day the power adapter would turn red (charging) when connected but it would still not start.

This morning after a full night of charging it booted up fine.

Sooo, is there a possibility that the Due does not play well with the Mac when it possibly goes into sleep mode? Has anyone else seen something similar?

No. It is more likely there is an issue with your MBP.
