power for Arduino Yun

:frowning: Hi

Hi all

I have built a few projects now and am getting more confident as each build gets finished however now I want to NOT use my PC to power my gizmo.
I got myself a TS7805 regulator a couple of 1uF Caps and used a PP3 9v battery ( the rectangle type )
1 cap on the input and one on the output and the middle pin on the TS to gnd pin is input and pin 3 is output and I measured a steady 5v output off load. So I have the blink sketch running on the Arduino just fine using PC to power it .Then I disconnect from PC and attach gnd and 5v from my regulator and the on-board LEDS faintly light and that's it! so then I use a couple of resistors to form a potential divider to get my 5v from the 9v battery, this didn't work, so then I just used the 9v battery briefly and it worked fine but I didn't want to leave it on to long. Any Thoughts ?? can some Yun's have on-board regulation?

Andy

PP3 9v battery has not enough Ah to power Yun.

One of easiest way to power Arduino Yun is using iphone battery pack.

thanks!
