Hi
When powered by battery is it possible to turn the unit on/off rather than just deep sleep? I know I can fit a switch for the battery power but it would be nice to do it via software.

Understood. It'll be a device that isn't on all the time but will need to turn off if not used for a while.

You could use a FET controlling the power , operated with a button and sealed in with a digital output .
Arduino can then turn itself off
Nice solution!
